I assume you've remembered enough to think you might be a challenge...?

I should be! I remember fighting this guy, and I was easily beating him. I remember dealing with him at some other point; I think I'd already beaten him and he tried to attack me, but I blocked it easily. I get the feeling I was good, and I was pretty damn confident in my abilities.

So is that what your past life did with himself - he was a combatant of some sort?

Honestly? I have no damn idea. I've only got those two memories of fighting, the rest seems to be following some other guy around, but I have no idea why I was doing that either.

I haven't remembered much about who he was, but I know the guy he is now. He says he's remembered being in charge of some organization and he may or may not be the Pope.

...Most people would call that particular organization "the Catholic Church", I imagine.

We were apparently calling it "the Abbey", so that's probably close enough, right?

I haven't remembered anything about that organization yet, and my friend hasn't remembered much either. I guess I'll be able to tell you at some point whether he's the Pope or not!

He's already told me not to call him that, which takes most of the fun out of it. He's got no sense of humor.

That is unfortunate. If your past life is going to be ridiculous like that, the least you can do is make comments about it once in a while.

Yeah, exactly! Seems silly not to take advantage of something as ridiculous as that. If I was the Pope in my past life, you can bet I'd insist on having everyone refer to me that way!

I'm kind of hoping I was just a random fighter, because if they let me into the church, I really don't want to know what kind of church they're running.

Don't be surprised if it was terrible; past lives involving religions or gods tend to be.

I can imagine. I haven't gotten any indications that I was doing anything great, anyway. I did have a cat though, so at least there's that.

Well, even if it is terrible, you're far from the only ones dealing with such things.

Seems that way. A lot of people seem to be struggling with their memories.

I've been on the network for almost two years, so I'm accustomed to them by now. They're..."interesting", is possibly the politest way to put it.

That long, huh? Sorry, sounds like that'd be a total pain in the ass. Have you remembered everything about your past life or does it take longer than a couple of years to get there?

I believe I've remembered almost everything, yes. My past life had difficulties remembering his childhood due to his circumstances, so I imagine those memories are permanently lost, but to my knowledge I've recalled everything else.
