[Arthur normally isn't the sort of person to bother people at work; he knows better than that, he wasn't raised in hell, and it's not like anything he might have to bring to someone's attention is that urgent, in the end. But the fact of the matter is that he doesn't know where else to reach Shigure, and there are some things he doesn't feel right discussing over text, and...well, maybe the cats will be a suitable distraction if things get awkward.
So he'll show up to this cat...adoption...thing, and he'll just kind of be checking the general place out while trying to discern if Shigure is here if no one minds.]
[Purrfect Pals is located fairly close to the animal shelter, though it's much smaller in scale. You'll find it mostly empty today, so you can look around without being interrupted. The place is neat and nicely furnished, with a glass window revealing the inner room where the cats are kept. They each have their own surprisingly spacious cages, and from the look of it they're being taken care of. There's another room connected to that one, where one can presumably play with the cats if they want to, given the amount of toys neatly tucked away in the corner.
Unsurprisingly, that's where you'll find Shigure, parked on the floor with a couple of cats. One of them has decided that his pants are comfy and is never leaving and the other is currently attempting to get the feathery toy Shigure's waving around her.
It's not exactly dignified, but when he notices Arthur he'll hold up a hand in greeting and raise his voice so he can be heard.]
Hey! Give me a sec!
[Not that he really needs to raise his voice... Anyway, with that he'll scoop the cats up (they wriggle a bit but otherwise don't seem too upset) and set them back in their cage before heading out into the main room to greet Arthur properly.]
Thanks for stopping by! You here looking for a cat?
[He'll gesture for you to follow; there's a sitting area a little further in, he can still keep an eye on the cats and the front door from here, so it works.]
[...I mean. Okay, so some of it is bothering him but that's all stuff that he's going to put in a jar in a drawer near his bed and never speak of until he dies, if he has his way.]
Yeah, a few things. I remembered a fat white cat named Morgrim, though she's apparently not a cat but a malakhim. No idea about who she is or why I've remembered her. Or why she isn't a cat despite looking exactly like one.
Then I remembered about some guy, a swordsman. Past me really wanted to fight him for some reason, but I don't remember his name or much else about him.
[...]
He looked like you, though. Kinda. Different hair color, but real similar in the face.
[...And moving right along!]
Then I remembered a bunch of tunnels that lead to a port or something. No idea why those were important enough to remember.
[...well, sure, we can talk about the angel cat first, I guess??]
Well, yeah, I guess. All I know is that she's not a cat, so I guess she's an angel or something.
Remembering a bit more about her certainly would be nice... I got the feeling I was pretty fond of her, I guess? I'm not really sure how to explain it. Remembering her was kinda nice, even if I don't really know anything about her.
[okay look arthur's priorities are fucking great and he got his phd in theology so i don't know what you expected here]
Malakhim are among the highest order of the angels, sent by God to be a messenger to mankind. Usually bringing divine knowledge of some sort. Admittedly, they're usually human-looking, from what I understand, and I'm not really sure why she's a cat either. But I suppose they can do what they want.
[...]
...I was able to interact with the supernatural as well. I don't know what any of them were called, though. It's good that the angel cat was nice, however.
I remembered that you were with me, watching something happen. We were up on some sort of balcony overlooking a room below. There were people down there, being consumed by some sort of void that opened up below them.
I don't know what caused it or why it happened. Just what I've told you. I do know that we didn't seem bothered by it.
Either way, I think it's pretty safe to say our past lives aren't going to be boring.
Pretty crazy to think our past lives came from the same world. What are the odds of that? Guess we'll have to keep in contact, to compare notes on whatever crazy things we remember.
[Within the realm of possibility, yeah, but completely unlikely? But that's. fine.]
I do remember using a sword at some point or another. Apparently I was good with it. I wasn't fighting humans, though - they were some of those supernatural things I was able to see, I think. Monsters.
Monsters, huh...? Sounds like it'd be fun! I remember thinking you must've been a pretty good fighter, though I'm not entirely sure why I was so convinced of that.
[...]
Guess I was wrong, huh? You didn't turn out to be a black mage. Never would've figured for you using a sword!
Unfortunately, I was a bit too angry to enjoy the fight, if such a thing can be enjoyable in the first place. Whatever caused me to fight those things in the first place apparently wasn't going over very well.
[...well i mean there was the part where he's pretty sure something broke his shoulder and he just switched hands with his sword and kept going, but that's- ]
I just know that I've never been that angry in my life.
You don't really seem like the sort to get that worked up. Whatever happened must've been pretty damn bad. I'm sure you'll remember more about it eventually.
