[He's tempted, as usual, to avoid the question; after all, he shouldn't be relying on anyone else, not when it's his job to be relied on. But...]

...It is, yes. I don't...understand it, I don't know why...

[He stops there, though it isn't necessarily because he wants to, it's through an inability to continue; he still isn't maintaining eye contact at all, this is...it's a bit much, okay.]

[He nods a bit at that, though he's still keeping his gaze averted; whether he was going to have more of an answer to that or not is difficult to say, though, given that he's quite suddenly gone weird and still, spending a good few moments just kind of intently staring at the blank space in front of his face.

After a moment whatever gripped him so suddenly seems to leave him, and he'll glance up at Shigure again once he seems to have his bearings.]

...Malevolence. It was...malevolence that you mentioned earlier, wasn't it?
armati: (10.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
...It's something produced by humans. A sort of corruption of the soul that builds and spreads, turning them into daemons.

It's largely caused by negative emotions.

[...Which honestly explains a lot.]
armati: (42.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Exactly.]

That's why stripping everyone of their emotions was "saving the world."
armati: (36.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
...It does, actually.

[He's actually surprised at how relieved he is at it; it feels sort of wrong, honestly...]

It doesn't make what I did any better, but it's... I don't know, it's good to know that there was any sort of process behind it at all.
armati: (20.)

Thank you for talking it over with me. And for understanding all of this.

[...]

I have reason to think that something...bad may happen, as a result of Retrospec giving us things from our past lives. It isn't anything life-threatening or unlivable, and I'll be all right. But... Well. Can I contact you, if things are difficult?
armati: (18.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's...something physical.

[Okay. Okay, just saying it should be fine, he's gotten this far without Shigure thinking badly of him or anything, so - ]

I've remembered being injured, and the damage I took from it seems to have been permanent. I was partially paralyzed on my right side, I lost the use of my arm from the shoulder down.
armati: (42.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
[That does seem to settle him a good amount.]

I should be all right, and I clearly learned to live with it well enough back then. But...I do appreciate knowing that that's an option. Thank you.
armati: (34.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I really do appreciate it.

[...]

I'm glad you came over tonight.
armati: (30.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I told you it was horrible, didn't I?

[He's amused, okay...]
armati: (08.)

[personal profile] armati 2019-03-18 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
People actually took me surprisingly seriously. I know I gave a speech once - talking to a large number of people about how I planned on shackling them all with the bonds of reason, and serve as a blade to dispel calamity and rid them of their suffering. It was a bit like welcoming them all to the cult, honestly...

[It was a thing.]

That speech went over...very well with the people, incidentally, despite it sounding blatantly insane.

I don't know how much they actually knew, but it doesn't exactly look promising.
